Dr. Alireza Minagar

Dr. Alireza Minagar - Thought Leader in Neurology

Having served for more than 20 years as a professor of neurology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Alireza Minagar is well experienced in teaching, clinical trials, and medical publishing. Dr. Alireza Minagar also served as the LSU neurology department chair, educating students about multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and other diseases. He has also overseen clinical trials, taking responsibility for initial planning, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment.

Dr. Minagar has made significant contributions to publications from LSU and the Elsevier group of journals, soliciting manuscripts from students and health care professionals and conforming them to various style guides. A skilled writer himself, Dr. Minagar has published more than 300 scholarly articles and abstracts.

Dr. Minagar’s college education began at the Tehran (Iran) University of Medical Sciences. Upon moving to the United States, he served residencies at New York University and the University of Miami, where he also completed his fellowship in neuro-immunology. He then undertook an internship in internal medicine at Mt. Vernon Hospital. He later earned an MBA from LSU in 2017, followed by an MS in bioinformatics from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Neurological Association and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

In his spare time, Dr. Minagar is an avid reader, enjoying both classic and modern literature. He is also a novelist and painter, and has exhibited many of his oil portraits.
